If you are experiencing a problem placing or receiving calls on your Verizon phone you are not alone. Approximately 90% of Verizon customers have had their service affected due to storm damage in Georgia.
FYN spoke with a customer service rep from Verizon Wireless late this evening regarding service issues. Verizon told us that they had no idea of when the issues would be resolved due to the current storm conditions. The reason for the problems were the earlier storms today that wrecked havoc on cell towers. Verizon has 79 towers down in Georgia from the storm and damage to its fiber optics. While Verizon is sorry for any inconvenience caused there is not a definite timeline on repairs at this time. Continued storms are expected to move through parts of Georgia later tonight so everyone is cautioned to monitor conditions. FYN will continue to bring any updates available.
