Child Abduction in the McCaysville Area

The GBI has asked Fannin County School System to run this AlertNow. There was a child abduction in the McCaysville area on February 5, 2013. The suspect, a black male by the name of Ellis Weatherspoon, took his children ages 6 and 1 after assaulting the children's mother. Law enforcement is currently attempting to locate the suspect and children. Weatherspoon is considered armed and dangerous. He and the children are believed to be on foot. Contact the Fannin County Sheriff's Department with any information at 706-632-2043 or call 911. We have been in contact with the GBI and the Fannin County Sheriff's Department and have been assured that it is safe to run buses and have school this morning. Thank you
